It’s no secret that 3Q/DEPT’s Chicago office is pretty popular amongst staff. So it came as no surprise when Crain’s Chicago Business announced that 3Q/DEPT was ranked the #2 “large-sized” employer in all of Chicagoland. We’re incredibly proud to call the Windy City our home and headquarters, and we’re honored to be named one of the best employers in the city.
Since the beginning, 3Q/DEPT has believed in giving employees flexibility in how they do their job. We’ve been a pioneer when it comes to remote work, allowing all of our employees the opportunity to work from home as often as they want. It’s why Quartz recently ranked us the #1 large employer for remote workers.
At the same time, we’ve always emphasized the importance of building the best internal culture, where 3Qers can show up to work as their true, authentic selves. It’s why so many 3Qers, when given the choice, still choose to work out of their respective offices, whether it’s Chicago, San Diego, Charlottesville, or one of the many DEPT offices around the world. In Chicago alone, nearly 70% of employees elected to keep coming into the office every week.
New Chicago Digs
This has been a big year for 3Q/DEPT and our Chicago headquarters. In July, we moved from our space on Washington Street to our new, bigger location on South Wacker. Our friends at Bear Construction helped us design a new space that fosters the spirit of collaboration that drives our company forward (and has plenty of space for all the coffee and snacks).
We asked Chicago 3Q/Depsters to share their thoughts on the new space – here’s what they had to say:
“I like the open concept throughout the office – it feels very inviting without feeling like it’s too open either. My favorite part is that all the big office spaces have clear windows instead of walls. It feels like the people who work there are very approachable and are a part of what’s happening in the office.” –Sarah Clarke
“There’s a lot of different spaces to connect and collaborate with coworkers. It’s also in a great building with access to a fantastic gym, coffee and smoothie bar, and a beautiful tenant lounge and rooftop patio with wifi! And there’s swings!” -Julie Honor
“I love that the new space inspires more in-office attendance. As the Office Manager, I am here four days a week. It’s nice to see people regularly and watch them interact with the new office and each other. Plus we have SO many amenities and places to connect.” -Megan Savoy
A Helping Hand
This October, employees from the Chicago office came together for the 2022 DEPT® Cares Day. Every year, Depsters are invited to spend part of their workday giving back to their local communities. It’s an opportunity to care for the communities we thrive in, and a chance to join together to have a real impact.
3Q/Depsters volunteered at the Susan G. Komen 2022 Chicago Race for the Cure – a 5K road race to raise money for breast cancer awareness and research. They helped set up the tents, assemble race bags, and supported the runners and race organizers during the event.
